Partners’ Meeting
Andrew Wommack Partners Meet.(MAY 18, 2019)
As it clocked 12:30 you could see people, one-by-one strolling in towards the Banquet Hall of Golf Course Hotel being ushered in by a team of jolly young men and women from Andrew Wommack Ministries and Charis Bible College dressed in beautifully branded shirts. Each guest was given a neatly designed free copy of the AWM Partners’ 2019 First Quarter Newsletter as s/he entered the hall. Banquet hall was beautifully adorned in white and navy-blue colors, giving it a calm and inviting ambiance just ready for our dear partners to have a memorable experience at the bi-annual Andrew Wommack Ministries Partners’ Meeting.
As guests walked in, they were welcomed by sensational smooth music performed by Charis band. Listening to the soothing melodies could only whet your expectation for a splendid afternoon. And at 13:00 sharp, the MC’s of the day- Michael Kebat and Racheal Mftimukiza walked straight to the platform, microphones in hand and heartily welcomed the guests to the event. I daresay, before the guests settled in, they were directed to the different serving centers with an inviting five course meal. Oh! the display at the serving tables couldn’t spare your appetite. Only choice could salvage you, for there was variety and plenty of sumptuous food. The feeling of having that delectable meal over soft jazz music playing is still fresh in my mind! And all this was possible, because of your generous giving dear partners.
After lunch, the MCs introduced Hans Baksteen (Andrew Wommack Ministries’ Director of Uganda) to share about the growth pattern in the ministry for the past three years and casting of the vision to partners. This session was very informative, eye-opening and it helped us reflect on how far the Lord has grown the ministry. Indeed, we can boldly say; Ebenezer! And as we were still pondering on how good God has been in our midst, we were introduced to a great teaching on Discretion by Duane Sheriff (A Charis Bible College Instructor). Discretion was the theme of the day as picked from Proverbs 1:3-4. Duane’s teaching emphasized the usefulness of wisdom in making right decisions, being responsible for one’s choices and/ or decisions and exercising integrity in everyday life. Watching the teaching opened up the meeting to a table discussion on how different people are exercising Discretion in their lives. This activity helped partners interact and learn from each other because iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17).
The meeting was nearly ending as questions stemmed in from the partners seeking some clarity on different matters concerning the ministry and, these were answered objectively. Lo and behold, the event climaxed with a nice display of a variety of gifts from which to choose. Among these gifts were; an engraved mug, Andrew Wommack books, pen and key-holder and the monthly Charis Bulletin- The Charis Oracle.
Thank you for gracing this meeting with your presence dear partner!
We cannot thank you enough, but your relentless giving is enabling us together to take the Gospel far and deep and ultimately, we are seeing hundreds and thousands of lives transformed by the unconditional love and grace of God.

Knowing God
What It Means to Know God – Just how do we get to know the Lord?
If I were to ask a group of people what’s the greatest thing in life, I would probably get as many answers as there were people. Certainly many things contribute to a full and happy life, but I hope all believers would agree that knowing God is absolutely the greatest and most important of all. Without that, everything else loses meaning.
The Apostle Paul put it this way in Philippians 3:8:
“Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ.”
Think of this: Paul wasn’t a loser. He hadn’t hit rock bottom with nowhere else to go. He wasn’t turning from a life of failure and counting that as “dung.” He was one of the most educated and accomplished men of his day. He was the elite of the religious class. People knew him and they wanted to be like him.
Paul wasn’t writing just about the time before he was born again. He had been a Christian for decades at the time he wrote this. He had traveled the world and been used of God as few men ever had or ever will be. Yet here he was still seeking to know God more (Phil. 3:10).
Paul was saying that the best life had to offer and the greatest accomplishments and pursuits of any man, when compared to knowing God, ranked in the same category as manure. He was admitting that he hadn’t arrived but that he had left and was pressing toward that goal of knowing God more (Phil. 3:12-14).
What does it say, when the man who wrote half of the New Testament was still pursuing knowing God decades after his conversion? Certainly there has to be a depth of knowing God that goes far beyond just getting saved.Paul spoke of this in Ephesians when he prayed that the Ephesian Christians would come to know the height, length, depth, and breadth of God’s love (Eph. 3:18-19).
He said something very interesting in Ephesians 3:19:
“And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.”
At first glance this seems confusing. How can we know something if it passes knowledge? Paul is speaking about experiencing God’s love in a way that is infinitely greater than mere intellectual knowledge. And notice that when we experience God’s love in this way, we will be filled with all the fullness of God. What a statement!
All we have to do is look at our lack of experiencing God’s fullness in order to realize we don’t know God’s love the way Paul described it. If we did, we would be filled with all His fullness. Therefore, there is a dimension to knowing God that the average Christian hasn’t experienced. How do we get there?
First of all, we have to realize that there is more to knowing God than just becoming a Christian. Multitudes of people have received salvation, and if they were to die, they would go straight into the presence of the Lord. But they don’t know God.
They don’t know that He loves them because He is love and not because they are lovely. They think they have to earn God’s favor, and they are needlessly suffering condemnation and lack of fellowship with Him because they feel unworthy. They don’t know Him as a loving heavenly Father but see Him as a harsh taskmaster.
Many Christians think our Father is the source of all their troubles and suffering. They think He uses those problems as tools to teach them something or change their behavior, even though the Word clearly proves the opposite (James 1:13). They don’t know their God as Healer or Provider, or in any other of the ways He manifests Himself to them. Truly, God’s people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge about Him (Hos. 4:6).
Much of the blame for this falls on the church. The Bible says in Romans 10:17,
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
The church, as a whole, has proclaimed that Jesus died for us to keep us from going to hell. Now, that’s true and quite a benefit. If that’s all there was to salvation, that’s more than we deserve. I would preach that message if that was all there was, but that’s not what the Scripture teaches.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
That verse specifically says the goal of salvation is “everlasting life.” And everlasting life was defined by Jesus in John 17:3, which says,
“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”
Knowing God the Father and Jesus Christ is eternal life. That doesn’t start when we go to heaven. Knowing God (eternal life) is something we can have right now (John 3:36). The word “know” is used in Scripture to describe the relationship between a man and his wife that produces a child (example: Gen. 4:1). It is speaking of intimacy. So “knowing God” is speaking of intimacy with Him.
To receive salvation and then stumble through life without experiencing intimacy with the Lord is to miss or ignore the most important part of what Jesus provided. Let me put it this way: if you received forgiveness through the sacrifice of Jesus and then continue on without an intimate, personal, close relationship with God, then according to John 3:16, you are missing the real purpose of salvation. This is where the vast majority of Christians live.
People believe they need to get saved because that’s the message they’ve heard. So they get saved and then they get stuck. They aren’t hearing that knowing
God is the real goal or that it’s even attainable. They are waiting on the sweet by and by, but struggling in the rough here and now.
Knowing God in the way I’m discussing isn’t even on the radar screen of most Christians. They aren’t pursuing it and they aren’t experiencing it. It begs the question, how do we get started in our pursuit of intimacy with the Lord? We can begin by spending time getting to know Him through His Word.
The Apostle Peter said in 2 Peter 1:3-4,
“According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”
It’s through the knowledge of God that we are able to receive all things that pertain to life and godliness. He has already given them, but it’s knowing Him that allows us to partake of His divine nature, to receive all His great and precious promises, and to escape the corruption of this world. What a deal! Knowing the Word is knowing God.
I recently taught a new series that focuses on knowing God, and it expounds on many of the key things I’ve learned about God through the Scriptures. I talk about the real meaning of eternal life, how to see with our hearts clearer than with our physical eyes, and much more.
This is a series that may not sound really interesting on the surface, but it is one of the most important messages I teach. If you ever want to fulfill what God has called you to do, you must know Him personally, and I believe this message will make a huge difference in your relationship with the Lord.

Times of Refreshing for Karamoja
Village life in the Karamoja region of Uganda. (Click to enlarge)“No water” is heard far too often across the land of Karamoja. A spine of extinct volcanoes makes up this subregion of Uganda—an area lacking basic necessities that most people will never have to go without. Any existing water is often undrinkable and accounts for half of all deaths. Years of war and rebellion have divided the people into two groups: those who have chosen to settle in the growing towns, and the more traditional tribesmen, who seek to maintain a lifestyle where cattle are the main currency.
A day in the life of a Karamojong woman is more difficult than most can even imagine. She’s up at sunrise, kisses her sleeping children, and starts out to begin the tedious job of collecting as many sticks as she can carry. As the heat soaks into her skin, she wipes the sweat from her brow, bundles the sticks together, and carries them on her head to the nearest market.
A decision must now be made. Karamojong women, hauling bundles of sticks to market. (Click to enlarge)Does she use the sticks as firewood to boil and sanitize water for her family, or does she sell the sticks to buy food instead? Visions of her children start to appear in her tired mind, and she does what she knows will keep her family alive one more day.
Two years ago, Andrew traveled to a church in the city of Moroto, Uganda, where he was touched by the shocking reality of the Karamojong people, by far the poorest of the poor. He determined then that he wanted to do something to help change things for the people in these areas. Before Jesus left earth, He commanded His followers to go and make disciples of all nations (Matt. 28:19-20 [New King James Version], see also Mark 16:15-20). Andrew has taken this command to heart in that he desires to reach as far and as deep as possible with the Gospel. No geographical area or people group is excluded from Jesus’ command.
Today hundreds of people are being discipled in Karamoja through the Discipleship Evangelism course—primarily in larger towns but it’s steadily moving out to reach the more traditional tribes. Mark Rowe, the director of international operations for Andrew Wommack Ministries (AWM), has been boots-on-the-ground and was charged with the task of evaluating the effectiveness of the discipleship training (L-R) Mark Rowe, the International Director of AWM, and his traveling companion, CBC Business School graduate, Travis VanMater, visit with Pastor Francis Tumusiime in Uganda. (Click to enlarge)programs.
He also researched ways the AWM team could dig even deeper to help turn things around in one of the world’s most impoverished regions. Arid, inhospitable, hard to reach, and void of sufficient water are just a few words that describe the harsh realities facing the Karamojong people every day.
The people of Karamoja are soon to experience times of refreshing, there can be no doubt about that. That includes more than just water. Mark and his team are ambassadors for God so the Karamojong might drink of the living water—Jesus—so they’ll never thirst again. This is only the beginning; the best is yet to come.

Karamoja—An Opportunity for the Gospel
After years of visiting Uganda and preaching in their churches, the Lord began stirring Andrew’s heart for more. Andrew asked one of his contacts there to take him to a place he’d never been, a place where the people had never heard of the Gospel. Soon he was flying into another world—the world of the Karamojong.
The first time Andrew visited Karamoja, he was not only astounded by the abject poverty of its people but frustrated with his inability to adequately share the Gospel with them. “How do you tell a people about the wonder of God’s goodness when they’ve never heard of Jesus? They don’t know what the crucifixion is, they’ve never heard of Israel or the Law, they know nothing outside of their village. I remember leaving that place thinking, God have we accomplished anything good here? Although half of them prayed to receive Christ, I don’t know if they knew what they were doing,” Andrew recalls.
Confiding in his friend and contact there, Andrew said, “Francis, you’ve got to help me. This is not making disciples.” But as promised, the Lord had gone before Andrew (Is. 45:2), preparing hearts, developing plans, and working out details. Francis replied, “God has already spoken to me. I’ve resigned from my church, and I’m ready to start traveling throughout Uganda with Discipleship Evangelism. If you want, I’ll come to Karamoja too.”
Mark Rowe preaching with the Jesus film (Click to enlarge)Partnering with Andrew Wommack Ministries in Uganda, Pastor Francis Tumusiime began traveling to remote villages around Karamoja with the Jesus movie and Discipleship Evangelism tools. The movie gave his audiences a reference point for the Gospel, while Discipleship Evangelism gives them step-by-step instruction in the Word. To date, thousands of people are being discipled all over Karamoja. Even though most cannot read or write, Francis and his team don’t allow that to stop the spread of hope and truth—they share the Gospel in the oral tradition of the Old Testament. With this kind of growth, in two years 1.2 million people will have been discipled!
“Forty-three years ago, the Lord spoke to my heart to start making disciples. That’s why I became a teacher. Second Timothy became my mantra—”
Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. [2] And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
2 Timothy 2:1-2
A typical Karamojong village (Click to enlarge)“Now we have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to reach a basically unreached people with the Gospel,” Andrew shares. “But not only are we preaching the Gospel in a way these people can understand; we are teaching their churches how to prosper and care for the people. We are bringing aid and resources they would otherwise never receive. We’re providing water filters and medicines, developing plans to drill wells, working to introduce them to aquaponics or other sustainable farming techniques, as well as teaching them simple business skills and supplying them with micro loans.”
Mark Rowe shaking hands with Pastor Moses at one of the intended project sites for well drilling (Click to enlarge)Mark Rowe, our director of International Operations said, “Watching what God is accomplishing in Karamoja is simply amazing. Because they are a communal people, we are able to go in and disciple an entire village at one time. We want to use that attitude to prosper the whole community so they can provide their own schools, their own hospitals, and their own businesses—all on the principles they are learning in the Word of God. Then we can take that model and translate it into any country in the world!”
This really is a wonderful opportunity to see multiple nations changed for the glory of God.

Receive the Holy Spirit
Receive the Holy Spirit
As His child, your loving heavenly Father wants to give you the supernatural power you need to live this new life.
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened… If ye…know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
LUKE 11:10,13
All you have to do is ask, believe, and receive! Pray, Father, I recognize my need for Your power to live this new life. Please fill me with Your Holy Spirit. By faith, I receive Him right now! Thank You for baptizing me. Holy Spirit, You are welcome in my life.
Congratulations! Now you’re filled with God’s supernatural power. Some syllables from a language you don’t recognize will rise up from your heart to your mouth. (See 1 Cor. 14:14.) As you speak them out loud by faith, you’re releasing God’s power from within and building yourself up in the Spirit. (See v. 4.) You can do this whenever and wherever you like.
It doesn’t really matter whether you felt anything or not when you prayed to receive the Lord and His Spirit. If you believed in your heart that you received, then God’s Word promises you did. “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them” (Mark 11:24). God always honors His Word; believe it!

Receive Jesus as Your Savior
Receive Jesus as Your Savior
Choosing to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior is the most important decision you’ll ever make!
God’s Word promises, “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation…. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Rom. 10:9–10,13).
By His grace, God has already done everything to provide salvation. Your part is simply to believe and receive.
Pray out loud,
Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Savior. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!
The very moment you commit your life to Jesus Christ, the truth of His Word instantly comes to pass in your spirit. Now that you’re born again, there’s a brand-new you!
Please contact us and let us know that you’ve prayed to receive Jesus as your Savior. We would like to rejoice with you and help you understand more fully what has taken place in your life.
